Summer on a Plate (or a Colander)

Without a doubt, one of the nicest things about summer is the summer produce. And what's even better is how simple it can be cooking/eating them because you don't really want to tamper with it too much.

Linguine in pomodoro fresco sauce

Roasted peppers with garlic

I can just imagine how much better-tasting it would be if they were grown right in our backyard, or I should say, balcony hehe Actually, I don't have to imagine. I do remember how much better they are, thanks to in-laws' vegetable patch, back in the (dating) days, while living in TO.

Hey, I thought whether we grow them ourselves, or the local farmers do, it's as summer as it can get...

  2. I love summer fruit. It is one of the best parts for me. Luckily, we have a backyard where we can grow a lot ourselves. It does taste better that way:)

  3. That looks like the perfect foods for summer. Stone fruits are for me the taste of summertime...just lovely!

    1. They are, aren't they! And since they're best in summer, you just want to savour the flavour, right?

  5. Summer produce is so good. I've never had much luck growing it on my own though. We tried tomatoes last year and it was disastrous. I need to work on my green thumb for sure! If your thumb is greener than mine, you might have some luck growing things on your balcony. Herbs are easy and don't need much space.

    1. Unfortunately, I probably have even less of a green thumb:p Did try one year to grow herbs a while baaack then I realized not only do I not have green thumbs but I also don't have the patience, surprisingly, when it came to plants. haha
