And The Week/Weekend Went On

Last week, it felt like I hurtled towards the weekend. In a good way, that is. Well, it helped that it was kinda' a short workweek.

Plus, on top of that, the weekend also felt like it passed by in a blink as well. Again, in a good way, that is.

Friday. Sunny day. I'd say the first sunny hot day of the year. Perfect timing. A bunch of us decided to meet last minute after work, seeing that it was such a beautiful day.

And since it was still early when we left the resto, and there was still time before the real dinner with hubs, our same bunch decided to walk a bit. We ended up at Ayoub's Dried Fruits and Nuts.

I didn't think the weekend would come fast enough, but luckily, it did.

Saturday. Sunny day. I knew it was going to be another gorgeous day. And despite not having any real plans for the weekend, I was sure of one thing. That there's gonna be a walk on the Seawall. Apparently, I wasn't the only one with the same idea.

Sunday. Turned out to be a sunny day. Didn't think it would be. Again, another day with no plans. So, just kinda' ended up at the bookstore.

I happen to be one of those people who prefer light reading in the summer. The more mindless, the better (no offense to anyone), especially taking work into consideration. Bios, serious lits and enlightening ones may just have to wait in the Fall...

Am I ready for the summer or what! HAH!

Another Week Bites the Dust

The closer we get to Christmas, the faster it feels the hours are melding to minutes. I'm not just talking about getting ready for the holidays with the buying and wrapping presents and spending much needed time with the family (yay!); but also at work, and, hate to admit it, outside work (translation: social events).

As I've mentioned before, for such a homebody (for the most part:p), this month's social calendar is surprisingly full. Yes, again, I know it's the holiday season, but this is not the norm for me. I'm still not really sure how I feel about it.

Last night was intended for a quiet night at home. So what did I do? Made last minute plan to attend a party, that's what!

Went straight from work, and just partied on! *eeek*

... the only bling on, un-intentionally... LOL

Am I pushing my body too far? Don't know. Maybe. Maybe not.

Not counting this weekend, one more weekend of partyin... Yikes!

Then, a much needed vacation is coming up shortly after, thank god! Maybe that's what it is, just knowing I'll get my rest then. But will I? It'll be a time spent mostly with family, after all. Hah!

Hey, not complaining at all! Seriously! At least I'm in a position (I think:p) to be able to do ALL that, right? At the end of it, if I really think about it, what does that all mean? That I have my health to be able to do all that. That I have friends to celebrate all that. That I have family to spend time with. And most of all, that I have a hubby who indulges me to do all that <3

The day could not have finished fast enough. I think the mere thought of it being a long weekend just made it so. By the way, Happy Labour Day! Bonus part, it's an extra long weekend for me as I'm not working Tuesday as well, big whoooop!!!

For lunch today, I finally went to La Taqueria. Been meaning to come here for a loooong while, having heard nothing but awesome stuff about this place. And now that I've gone, I don't know what I was waiting for, seriously. Mind you, I'll probably get the evil eye for saying this but I think it's just as good as this other Mexican restaurant on Robson that shall remain nameless for this post:p Not necessarily better, for me, but equally yummmmy!

It's Friday I'm in Love

Right after dinner, as me and hubby were getting some "fresh air" in the balcony, I could have sworn it's Saturday tomorrow, and already, I started thinking, yeay, I can sleep in. Then just as soon the thought came, so it went, when I realized it's only Thursday. Booo!!!!!

Not sure if this is the right pick-me-upper for the moment, nonetheless, I love this song!




This song, it always take me back to high school. Eeeeek, did I just date myself?!?!? Meh, who cares! It'll always be Friday I'm in love! :)

For now, in the words that me and past co-worker came up with, T.G.I.F.T.! Thank God It's Friday Tomorrow!!!! LOL

Guess Friday came after all, whew!... Don't know how, but I made it through the day. I might not have been my most productive self, but I sure did my best hehehe

Partly what got me through the day is that knowing from the time my work day started, I was going to have lunch that's familiar and takes me back in time...

Yes, I think of food quite a bit. I can even think and talk about it even as I'm eating. Sad? Scary?

This place just opened near work. I would not have known if not for a co-worker who happened to walk by it. So thanks, co-worker!

The food was good! Yummy!

Although, here's the deal. I don't cook this kind of food at home. I would crave it every now and then. And when I do buy it, guess what I realize, it doesn't quite taste like home. Another thing that dawns on me, when I'm craving this food, what I'm actually craving is my parents' cooking, (my) home-cooked meal. Now, can't be flying 5000 km every time for mom's cooking and I guess I have to be in a different stratosphere to be able to taste dad's cooking again (miss him so terribly)... sigh... I guess that's why I don't cook it often because even my cooking can only come close to theirs.

So until I figure out a way around this, at least I can be happy with the fact that there are places I can go to satisfy my yen, somewhat. Thanks, for what it's worth!:)

Is it Friday yet?

Considering that Monday was a stat holiday and Tuesday was a vacation day, Friday cannot come fast enough! Yes, I know!

It's my own doing, really. Went to a co-worker's house last night to watch the fireworks. Need I say more. Guess I can't party like I used to anymore, huh? I must say I had tons of fun. A "little" wine, good food, fun company and awesome fireworks...

Now I'm just pooped. Alarm went on this morning and I could have sworn I just got to bed. Heh, wachoo gonna do... Hey, if I'm gonna be this tired, I might as well be tired for the right reason, no? Or the fun reason, anyway, right?

Can you guess what this chickadee'll be doing this weekend? That's right! zzzzzzzzz... (I hope anyways:p)
